“This application is envisaged as a “mobile first“ website that will operate equally wellon desktop computers. It will provide profiling for all countries through thepresentation of demographic, climatic, geographical and other data.”

Gazetteer is a map browser application that presents information on a country of users choice. The Map makes use of the Leaflet.js library to display the map in a bootstrap environment. When a user requests information from the info buttons down the left hand side, modals with the country information are presented to the user. With the use of jquery AJAX calls to PHP scripts, several API calls are made to retrieve and display information for the selected country.
